Design Intentions

Order in Chaos

In Catastrophy we were tasked as part of a GameJam to make a game representing "Let there be Chaos". As such we wanted to make a game that felt slow and simple at the start and would progress to a point where, if a player were to have started there, they would have felt overwhelmed. However, by getting there themselves the exposure would allow them to still feel in control.

With this team, we were looking to make a mechanically simple game that would look great at a quick glance. As such I reached out to a number of animators and a single solid programmer. I took on the role of Level Designer in addition to my Project Management duties.
