Project Management

Leadership

As the Project Manager of Amanda the Adventurer 3, I took on an Enabling Leader role. Rather than just handing out tasks, I worked closely with my team to make sure they had the support, clarity, and resources they needed to do their best work. I trusted each member of the team to make strong decisions in their area of expertise, and that trust went both ways—they relied on me to keep the project moving forward and on track.

As with any project, challenges came up along the way. One example was translating the high-level design vision into playable mechanics while staying within tight deadlines. When issues like this arose, I guided the team in exploring creative solutions. For instance, I worked with the designers to refine puzzles and systems through structured feedback sessions and brainstorming exercises, ensuring the gameplay felt polished and cohesive without compromising our schedule.

Taking this collaborative and empowering approach allowed our multidisciplinary team to work as a unified whole. By coordinating sprints, managing milestones with the publisher, and integrating contributions from both internal and external developers, we were able to deliver a game we’re all proud of. Leading in this way helped make Amanda the Adventurer 3 not just a finished product, but a project where everyone felt ownership and pride in what we created together.

Agile Development

Agile

As the Project Manager on Amanda the Adventurer 3, I leaned on agile development to keep the team moving smoothly. Instead of just assigning tasks, I worked alongside the team through sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives to make sure everyone had what they needed to do their best work. This collaborative approach built trust both ways—I trusted the team to make smart choices, and they trusted me to keep the project on track.

Using agile workflows also meant turning high-level design ideas into clear, actionable tasks. I maintained schedules and documentation so the whole team—designers, artists, and programmers—could stay aligned. When priorities shifted, agile practices helped us adapt quickly while still hitting our milestones.

By combining agile structure with an enabling leadership style, I was able to help the team deliver polished puzzles and systems under tight deadlines. It kept the project flexible, creative, and ultimately allowed everyone to feel proud of the work we produced together.
